2009 ReTreat ReCap - Day One (Friday)

We arrived at the Baker Lake Lodge on Friday afternoon, and put out the goodie bags and Knitmas gifts (a.k.a. door prizes) in preparation of our ReTreat arrivals:

And then after everyone arrived and got settled in, Knitmas started in earnest. The only thing missing was a decorated tree, but we had a lovely hearth and a crackling fire, good friends (almost family!), good food and drink. Let the fun begin!
Hey...Bartender!!

There were several lively games going on thru the weekend at the pool table, but I don't think anyone lost any SERIOUS money. The great room at the lodge was large enough that we had areas by the bar, fireplace, tv (movies and knitting videos pretty much all weekend), sofas/rockers/easy chairs, plus the dining area where we had a skein winding station and Pat did knitting machine demos. Here's some spinning going on:
As you can tell, most of us changed into our pj's on Friday night. You'll see in the upcoming reports that we pretty much stayed in our pj's all weekend!
To be continued...

Mountain Colors Winter Lace & Addi Clicks!

Just received a new order of Addi Click interchangeable needles. I've called those who were on the waiting list, and have a few sets un-spoken-for. If you want a set, give the shop a call at 360-755-7086 and we'll happily hold them for pickup here, or ship them right out to you.
We also received our order of Winter Lace from Mountain Colors, and I'm very happy with this yarn. It's a 50% Merino 50% Silk, with a whopping 1200 yards per skein. Shown from left to right (the colors are deeper than the photo shows) Ruby River, Mountain Twilight, Red Tail Hawk and Wild Horse:

Spring/Summer 2009 Classes & Events

I've just gotten back from the printer with the Spring/Summer 2009 issue of the Wool Street Journal - aka Knot Just Yarn's latest newsletter. I will work on adding images of the new class projects over the weekend, and you can see the class projects at the shop, too.

We're getting excited about the LYS Tour, which is coming up in May. The 14th to the 17th, to be precise. Extended hours are 10-8 Thursday and Friday, and 10-6 Saturday and Sundary on the days of the tour. We have Passports available in the shop now, so stop by and pick one up. You'll have four chances to win the individual shop drawings (one drawing per day) and if you make it to all 23 shops (don't forget to get your passport stamped at each one!) you'll be eligible to win one of four fantastic Grand Prizes: 1 - $500 gift certificate; 2 - $250 gift certificates; or a set of the new Addi Click interchangeable needles.
